Disequilibrium
by Monica Rodgers

You tore me to pieces
then smooth out the creases
You shouldn’t have left me alive

You revel in sickness
with no one to witness
You shouldn’t have left me...

Alive again
I can’t breathe again
I’m tired of playing
I can’t stand the waiting

You lied again
Let me die again
And you say I’m ugly
Have you ever loved me?

You’re out of excuses
Your reasons are useless
You shouldn’t have left me alive

Nowhere to retreat to
It’s come back to eat you
You shouldn’t have left me...

Alive again
I’m so weak again
Ignoring my pain
Let it flow down the drain

Let’s just try again
We’ll be fine again
But I never knew you
You don’t listen, do you?

So why are you laughing
When everything’s crashing
Well, it looks like you’re dying
And no one is crying

Whatever he chooses
Just cover the bruises
You shouldn’t have left me alive

You thought you could hide
From the monster inside

You shouldn’t have kept it alive
