Poem about my anorexia
Jan 10th, 2006 at 5:37am

THIN

Thin, is the sin from which I spin
All my other plates.

Frail, is the scale from life's black veil
My every move dictates.

Alone in the depths, starvation glares
Alone with her, am I

Wandering, forever lost
Not comprehending why.

Sick, is the stick, the measurement
Of all my life's defeats

Black is the colour, pouring out
As certainty retreats.

As I write this they are playing 'Goodbye to Love' by Karen Carpenter on the radio!!  SPOOKY!

That is spooky, JJ.

I hope you'll beat it.

By the way, I love the Carpenters.  She had the most beautiful voice.  It was so sad when she died.

Great poem JJ! I used to have trouble eating and keeping weight on even though I wasn't truely anorexic. Now I am about 5 lbs bigger than I feel I should be and I'm freaking out! All I need to do is exercise a bit and eat less junk, but seeing a bigger number on the scale makes me want to starve myself out of old habits. I hate scales!
Thanks for sharing,
Ginee

Thanks for sharing with us JJ.   I can totally relate to this poem.  I LOVED Karen Carpenter.  That is creepy that it came on as you were typing this.  I hope you are doing OK!!

Big healing hugs,

I have realised that there is no cure for this condition  Undecided

It is something that can lay dormant but will usually resurface when stress is high.  Sad

It is a life-long battle.  Angry

I pray that we win.   Smiley
