Butterfly

To die on the water with your paper wings
To float after your flight in the sky
With your fading colors
Without searching, without questions
Finally resting forever
The flowers that you kissed
The aromas you knew
You can forget everything now
You can rock on the waves
To die on the water with your paper wings
As a butterfly forever free
As a butterfly always running away from life
That's how I want to die
But that's a worry for later
Now I wish
To fly like a butterfly
But I cannot fly that high
So I'll fly in my dreams
Always running away from life

Always running away

It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But, it is never gone.&&~Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy~

Ines,

I can TOTALLY relate. I am always running away but receintly realized it's me I am trying to run from - quite an impossible task. Wish nothing more than changing into something and a butterfly would be the prime thing to become.

Ines,

My nickname is Butterfly because I think they are beautiful and I when young wanted to be one so I could fly away from my abusers.   Fly away never to return.

Now I try to heal from the abuse only to wish I could just fly away to avoid having to even look at it.  but avoiding looking at it only brings up the pain more and makes me wish I too was a butterfly that could fly away.

Thank you for sharing.  It has hit home for me.
