country kitchens
modern kitchens
trailor kitchens
clean kitchens
messy kitchens
busy kitchens
kitchens of grandmothers, aunts,
friends.

standing against the sink,
sitting on the island.
sounds. children.
a phone, the weatherman
on TV, clinking of pots
and pans.

rush, rush, rush,
to get it all done
BAM! Hey You There
youareintheway.

I'll have my
own kitchen
someday...

I really like this poem, Hope! I am a southern girl and everyone around here tends to hang out and spend lots of time in the kitchen. In some houses, all activity gravitates around the kitchen! I can't wait to have my own house with a huge kitchen that has lots of open space for people to sit around and talk while cooking or eating.
Thanks for sharing,
Gin
