Title: Pain
Post by hopeful on Sep 13th, 2005 at 8:08am
I have hesitated putting this here because it is a bit dark.
I found this a year or so ago.  When I had written it, I know not for sure.
My apologies in advance if this offends anyone.

My God, how to describe the pain.
A grotesque oozing hole in your soul,
Fed by frustration, disappointment & mistrust.

You try to control it,
This festering wound inflicted by humanity
As your senses scream for mercy.

Sanity tells you it must be lanced;
Excising the tears of sorrow,
Peeling off the crusty scab of resentment.

Where would the infection drain
If it was cauterized?
Would it spread and consume your whole being?

It can't be exposed to the air
For the mind would reel from the stench
And the body recoil in fear.

Hey Hopeful!

No apology necessary!

"Sanity tells you it must be lanced;
Excising the tears of sorrow,
Peeling off the crusty scab of resentment."

That is part of the healing process.  Or it's the way I see it.  Peeling back the layers and layers of pain.  Thanks for sharing with us ~ it is awesome!!

Big hugs,
Mandi :)

Hopeful,

No apology needed.  I'm glad you shared this with us.  You did an awesome job of describing the pain of our past.  Yes, it has been a "grotesque oozing hole" in my soul.  I am so thankful to have found others who understand my pain and help me on my journey.  Thank you for being here, Hopeful, and for sharing with us.
